Create Escrow

Lock XRP or tokens in escrow with time or conditional release. Follow the steps below to configure your escrow.

Step 1: Asset & Amount

An escrow can lock either XRP or a fungible token. Choose XRP to lock native XRP, or select Token to lock one of your own issued tokens. Then specify how much to lock. Hover the "?" icons for more help.

Select a token: The drop-down lists tokens you have created with the Token Factory. Start with Gopnik (GOP) or any other token you've issued. In future versions, you'll be able to search for and import any token on XRPL.

Step 2: Recipient

Choose who will receive the escrowed funds. You can select one of your own imported wallets from the suggestions, or paste any XRPL address. The selected address must exist on the XRPL to claim the funds when the escrow conditions are met.

Step 3: Conditions

Specify the rules that control release of the escrowed funds. You can set a time lock (the funds become claimable after a specific date/time), a crypto-condition (the recipient must provide a matching preimage), or a combination of both. Finish After is the earliest time the recipient can finish the escrow; Cancel After is a deadline after which you can reclaim the funds if the conditions are not met.

Step 4: Notes

Add any notes or description to help you remember the purpose of this escrow. Notes are not stored on chain and are for your reference only.

Step 5: Review & Sign

Review your escrow configuration below. Once you click Sign & Submit, the EscrowCreate transaction will be submitted to the XRP Ledger.
