Direct Messages

Use the Direct Messages tab to send private notes between wallets. Messages are end‑to‑end encrypted when all participants’ seeds are known to the wallet manager. If a recipient address is unknown, the message will be delivered in plaintext. You can specify multiple recipients separated by commas or spaces, and choose how long the message should persist: Permanent, 7 Days or 15 Minutes (ephemeral). Expired messages are automatically removed.

When you include an NFT ID in your message prefaced by nft: (e.g. nft:00080000...), the dashboard will fetch the NFT’s metadata and display a preview. This makes it easy to start a conversation around a specific token.

Community & Topics

The Community section brings the spontaneity of chat together with the structure of a forum. Each topic corresponds to a chat room where discussions are organised by category and labelled with relevant tags. A sleek dark theme, intuitive navigation and categorical organisation make it easy to find the conversations that matter to you【63478066810577†L42-L45】. Use the search box to filter topics by name or tag, and explore the trending carousel to see which rooms are most active.

To start a new topic, click the Create Topic button. A wizard will guide you through naming your room, choosing a category, adding tags, writing optional guidelines, and deciding whether posts should appear on the public feed. You can also configure VIP gating based on token and NFT holdings. Only the chat admin or wallets with a Gopnik trustline can create VIP topics. Public topics are visible to everyone.

Messages posted in topics are encrypted at rest in our external database. A deterministic symmetric key derived from the room ID is used to encrypt and decrypt content, ensuring that only participants with access can read posts. Public feed viewers can read posts only if they know the channel key. This enhances privacy without sacrificing usability.

NFT Sharing

At any time you can share an NFT from your wallet by entering its ID in the Share an NFT widget. This will create a new direct message to yourself and display a preview of the token. Once posted, you can discuss the NFT in the forum or send the message to others by copying the link.

Access Levels

VIP access is determined by your Gopnik token and NFT holdings. When joining a VIP room, the system checks whether your selected wallet has a Gopnik trustline and meets the minimum token and NFT thresholds defined by the room creator. If you do not meet the requirements, the Enter button will be disabled. This allows communities to curate membership and unlock special content for holders.

Future updates will enable more granular access control based on additional wallet properties, such as staking, achievements or custom NFTs. Stay tuned!
