How to Use the Betting Dashboard

Welcome to the Gopnik betting platform! This guide will help you get the most out of the betting dashboard. If you can’t find an answer here, please reach out through our support channels.

Finding Events

The events page lists all upcoming sporting events and custom bets. You can filter the list in several ways:

  • Search: Use the search bar to find events by team names, sport titles or custom outcome descriptions.
  • Sport Filter: Select one or more sports from the dropdown to narrow the list. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) to select multiple sports. Leave it empty to see everything.
  • Navigation Pills: Click the sport names at the top to quickly switch between categories. Highlighted sports are marked with a star.
  • Top Events: The five soonest events are shown at the top of the page for quick access.

Placing a Bet

When you find an event you like, click the Bet button next to your chosen outcome. This opens a bet slip where you can:

  • Enter your stake (amount to wager).
  • Choose your currency: XRP or GOPNIK tokens. Betting with GOPNIK tokens earns you a discount on fees.
  • Review estimated fees and potential payouts based on your subscription tier.

After submitting, your bet will wait for an opponent to accept. You can monitor your bets in My Bets and cancel unmatched bets before the event starts.

Creating Custom Events

Admins and Pro/Elite subscribers can create custom bets for any topic—whether it’s a sporting match not available through our API or a completely original proposition:

  1. Click the Create Custom Event button on the events page.
  2. Enter a descriptive title and at least two possible outcomes.
  3. (Optional) Set a start time if the event occurs in the future.
  4. Your event will appear after review. Other users can then place bets on it.

A small creation fee may apply and will be deducted from your balance. The platform uses escrow on the XRP Ledger to securely hold and release funds when the outcome is decided.

Understanding Fees & Discounts

Our platform charges a commission on net winnings to keep the lights on. Fees vary depending on your subscription tier:

  • Free: 5% commission
  • Basic: 4%
  • Pro: 2%
  • Elite: 0%

If you pay your bet in GOPNIK tokens, you receive an additional discount (e.g. 10%). The bet slip automatically displays your fee rate and discount so there are no surprises.

Managing Sports Categories (Admins)

Administrators configure which sports are available through the API Settings page. Each sport corresponds to a key defined by the odds provider. You can:

  • Include sports: Specify a comma‑ or newline‑separated list of sport keys to fetch.
  • Highlight sports: Add sport keys to the highlighted list so they stand out in the navigation. Users will see a star next to them.
  • Exclude sports: Hide certain sports entirely from the betting interface (e.g. if you don’t want to offer them).

The sports list is case‑insensitive and uses the keys defined by the odds provider (e.g. soccer_epl, basketball_nba, esports_csgo). Unknown keys will still appear as Other if events exist. Make sure your API key is valid and check the odds provider’s documentation for the latest list of sports.

Troubleshooting

If you don’t see any events listed, consider the following:

  • API not configured: Make sure your API key and sports list are set in the admin settings.
  • No current events: There may be no upcoming events in the sports you’ve chosen. Try selecting All sports or expanding your list.
  • API limits: Some providers update odds at different intervals and may rate‑limit requests【549890208370525†L20-L34】. Wait a few minutes and refresh the events.
